When fitted with wide wheels, it was even more capable off-road, and some Schwimmwagens even had MG34 machine guns. Between the end of 1942 and Fall 1944, some 14,000 Schwimmwagens rolled off the production lines, and they were sent to a variety of locations with a range of briefs, from pioneer units to Fallschirmjager paratroopers.
