During DTM’s championship contention, Mercedes introduced 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II in 1991. Based upon the compact Mercedes-Benz 190 E, it was given improved aerodynamics with components such as over fenders, front and rear spoilers and a large rear wing, and employed a 2.5-liter inline-4 DOHC engine capable of 340hp.
